یکی از مشکلات صنعت طیور یک دست نبودن گله در مزرعه گوشتی است هر چند که در کارخانه‏ های جوجه‏کشی جوجه گوشتی و بوقلمون، اغلب جوجه ‏های تعیین جنسیت شده را به تولید کنندگان تجاری می‏ فروشند، زیرا تفاوت‏ های جنسی در مقدار رشد و بازدهی مصرف خوراک‏، جداسازی نرها و ماده‏ ها را برای تامین نیازهای بازار از نظر تولید لاشه‏ های یک دست و مشخص ضروری می‏ سازد. پژوهش حاضر به منظور بررسی تاثیر تزریق درون تخم‌مرغی عصاره گرده کاج بر رشد و جنسیت جوجه‏ های گوشتی انجام شد. این پژوهش با 500 عدد تخم‌مرغ‏ سویه راس 308 به صورت طرح کاملا تصادفی با پنج تیمار چهار تکرار و 25 عدد تخم‌مرغ در هر تکرار به اجرا درآمد. تیمارهای آزمایشی شامل: 1- شاهد بدون تزریق 2- شاهد با تزریق (تزریق حلال‏‏ ها) 3- تزریق mg/L  50 عصاره گرده کاج 4- تزریق mg/L 100 عصاره گرده کاج 5- تزریق mg/L 150 عصاره گرده کاج بود. صفات اقتصادی، درصد جوجه درآوری، تمایز جنسیتی و بیان نسبی ژن IGF-I و IGF-II مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. نتایج حاصل از این پژوهش نشان داد استفاده از تزریق درون تخم‌مرغی عصاره گرده کاج تاثیر معنی‏داری بر درصد جوجه درآوری، صفات اقتصادی و تمایز جنسیت جوجه­ های گوشتی نداشت، اما تزریق درون تخم‏ مرغی عصاره گرده کاج سبب کاهش بیان نسبی ژن IGF-I و IGF-II شد و در تیمارهای عصاره گرده کاج پاسخ به دوز در بیان نسبی ژن IGF-I در بافت سینه و IGF-II در بافت ران مشاهد شد به طوری که در تزریق 150 mg/L عصاره گرده کاج سبب افزایش معنی‏ داری در بیان نسبی ژن IGF-I در بافت سینه شد.
