این تحقیق به منظور بررسی چند شکلی­آللی ژن­های BMP15 (واریانت FecxG و FecxBGDF9 (وایانت G8 و G1) و BMPR- IB (FecB) در آمیخته­های شال و رومانف انجام شد. برای این منظور 79 نمونه خون از گله موجود در سطح شهرستان گنبد کاووس جمع­آوری و استخراج DNA به روش بهینه یافته نمکی انجام شد. با استفاده از پرایمرهای اختصاصی قطعات 141 و153 جفت بازی از اگزون 2 ژن BMP15 به­ترتیب برای شناسایی جهش­های FecXG و FecXB  قطعات 462 و 139 جفت بازی
به­ترتیب از اگزون­های 1 و 2 ژن
GDF9 برای شناسایی واریانت­های G1 و G8 و یک قطعه 190 جفت بازی از ژن BMPR-IB برای شناسایی جهش FecB با استفاده از واکنش زنجیره­ای پلیمراز تکثیر شدند. نتایج حاصل از هضم محصولات PCR وجود جهش درجایگاه BMP15،BMPR-IB و اگزون 2 ژن GDF9 را تاًیید نکرد. در حالی که در اگزون 1 جایگاه GDF9 چندشکلی مشاهده شد، و فراوانی ژنوتیپ هتروزایگوت در این جمعیت به مقدار 11/0 برآورد شد.
