به­ منظور بررسی کینتیک تولید گاز در دانه و کنجاله پسته کوهی (بنه)، تولید گاز متان و تجزیه­ پذیری ظاهری ماده خشک از آزمایش‌های تولید گاز و Batch culture استفاده شد. تولید گاز نمونه‌ها در زمان‌های 2، 4، 6، 8، 12، 24، 48، 72، 96 و 120 ساعت پس از انکوباسیون اندازه‌گیری و فراسنجه‌های تولید گاز، دی‌اکسید کربن، متان، زمان متناظر با نصف بیشینه تولید گاز (t 0.5) و فراسنجه‌های محاسباتی نظیر پروتئین میکروبی، تولید اسیدهای چرب کوتاه زنجیر و انرژی متابولیسمی آن‌ها برآورد شد. بر اساس نتایج به­ دست­ آمده بین دانه و کنجاله بنه به ­لحاظ ترکیب شیمیایی اختلاف آماری معنی‌داری وجود داشت (0/05p<). هرچند در رابطه با ترکیبات فنولی کل اختلاف معناداری مشاهده نشد، ولی میزان تانن متراکم دانه بالاتر از کنجاله به­ دست آمد (0/0001 < p). کنجاله بنه بالاترین نرخ تولید گاز را داشت (0/008p<). تعداد مول متان تولیدی در 24 ساعت انکوباسیون دارای تفاوت معنی‌داری بین تیمارهای آزمایشی بود. در مقایسه با کنجاله بنه، دانه بنه کمترین میزان متان تولیدی را به­ خود اختصاص داد (0/001p<). غلظت کل اسیدهای چرب فرار در دانه بنه نسبت به کنجاله بنه کاهش یافت (0/008p<). بالاترین میزان توده میکروبی در دانه بنه مشاهده شد (0/0003p<). ضریب تفکیک در دانه و کنجاله بنه به­ ترتیب برابر با 6/48 و 2/92 بود. نتایج تحقیق بیانگر آن است که دانه و کنجاله بنه از پتانسیل هضمی نسبتاً خوبی برخوردار هستند و در صورت داشتن یک برنامه‌ریزی مناسب می‌توان از آن در جیره حیوانات نشخوارکننده استفاده کرد.
