     به­ منظور بررسی ارتباط جایگاه­ های ژن کاندیدا GDF9 با صفات کیفی و کمی اسپرم در گاوهای نر هلشتاین ایران، از تعداد 108 نمونه خون و اسپرم گاوهای نر موجود در مرکز تلقیح مصنوعی که بین سال­های 1395-1368 متولد شده بودند، استفاده شد. برای تعیین SNP جایگاه­ های A625T و A489T با روش PCR- RFLP  به ­ترتیب از آنزیم ­های DraI و NsiI استفاده شد. در جایگاه A625T دو الل A با طول قطعات 351 و 25 جفت باز و الل T با طول 376 جفت باز و در جایگاه A489T دو الل A با طول قطعات 184 و 24 جفت باز و الل T با طول 208 جفت باز به ­دست آمد. بررسی نتایج فراوانی نشان­ داد که در هر دو جایگاه الل T و ژنوتیپ TT گاوهای نر هلشتاین ایران فراوان­ تر بود. بررسی نتایج تجزیه واریانس نشان داد که اثر هر دو جایگاه بر کلیه صفات کیفیت اسپرم در گاوهای نر هلشتاین ایران معنی­ دار بود. مقایسات بین میانگین ژنوتیپ‌ها نشان ­داد که در هر دو جایگاه گاوهای با ژنوتیپAT  به­ طور معنی­ داری در صفات حجم انزال، جمعیت اسپرم، تعداد کل اسپرم و تعداد دز اسپرم تولیدی نسبت به بقیه ژنوتیپ ­ها دارای مقادیر بالاتری هستند. در صفات جنبندگی بعد از انزال و جنبندگی بعداز یخ‌گشایی ژنوتیپ TT دارای مقادیر بالاتر معنی ­دار را نشان داد. نتایج نشان­ داد که می ­توان از این جایگاه ی نشانگری در انتخاب ژنومی سود برد.
