    تاثیر افزایش سطح پروتئین با استفاده از کنجاله­سویا یا پودر گوشت بر عملکرد، متابولیت­های خونی، آنزیم­های کبدی و انسولین در گوساله­های نر در حال رشد هلشتاین بررسی گردید. تعداد 36 رأس گوساله نر هلشتاین با میانگین وزن 7/167 در قالب طرح کاملاً تصادفی با سه تیمار (12 دام در هر تیمار) به مدت 9 هفته مورد آزمایش قرار گرفتند. تیمارهای آزمایشی شامل؛ 1) جیره شاهد (CON) با سطح پروتئین خام توصیه‌شده سطح NRC (8/13 درصد)؛ 2) افزایش سطح پروتئین خام جیره تا 9/14 درصد با استفاده از کنجاله سویا و 3) افزایش سطح پروتئین جیره تا 9/14 درصد با استفاده از پودر گوشت بود. جایگزینی در هر دو تیمار به­جای سبوس گندم بود. نتایج نشان داد خوراک­مصرفی و افزایش وزن گوساله‌ها تحت تأثیر تیمارهای آزمایشی قرار نگرفت. بدون در نظر گرفتن منبع مکمل پروتئینی، با افزایش سطح پروتئین جیره ضریب تبدیل خوراک بهبود داشت (09/0=P). در بین متابولیت‌های خون، تنها گلوکز خون گوساله‌های تغذیه شده با سطح پروتئین بالا تمایل به افزایش داشت (07/0=P). آنزیم‌های کبدی آسپارتات آمینوترانسفراز و آلانین آمینوترانسفراز تفاوتی در بین تیمارهای آزمایشی نداشتند. هورمون انسولین در تیمار حاوی پودر گوشت افزایش داشت (04/0=P). به طور خلاصه نتایج نشان داد علیرغم اینکه افزایش سطح پروتئین جیره با منبع قابل تجزیه در شکمبه (کنجاله سویا) قابل توصیه نیست؛ اما استفاده از منبع پروتئین غیر قابل تجزیه در شکمبه (پودر گوشت) سبب بهبود غلظت گلوکز خون و افزایش غلظت انسولین گردید که می­تواند در نرخ رشد گوساله­های در حال رشد تاثیرگذار باشد.
