پروتئین‌های شوک حرارتی 70 کیلودالتونی (HSP70) یک محافظ طبیعی سلول در زمان‌های تنش حرارتی هستند که باعث حفظ هموستازی سلول شده، مانع از تغییر ساختار پروتئین‌ها به‌خصوص در شرایط استرس می‌شوند و همچنین دارای عملکرد وسیع و مؤثر در رشد و تولیدمثل می‌باشند. هدف از این مطالعه شناسایی و بررسی جهش‌ها در نواحی پروموتور و بخشی از اگزون ۱ ژن  HSP70 و ارتباط آن‌ها با صفات تولیدمثلی در بوقلمون‌های بومی شمال غرب ایران بود. برای انجام این پژوهش از 193 قطعه بوقلمون که قبلا برای صفات تولیدمثلی رکوردگیری شده بودند، خون‌گیری شده و پس از استخراج DNA ، بخشی از پروموتور و اگزون ۱ تکثیر گردید. هاپلوتایپ­های مختلف از محصولات تکثیر شده با روش SSCP مشخص گردید و ارتباط آن‌ها با صفات موردنظر در بوقلمون­ های بومی شمال غرب ایران مورد بررسی و تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. نتایج این مطالعه 3 الگوی متفاوت را در ناحیه مورد بررسی ژن HSP70 مشخص ساخت. توالی‌یابی الگوهای مختلف یک SNP در نوکلئوتید 211 نشان داد. بررسی اثر ژنوتیپ­های مشخص شده  بر صفات تولیدمثلی نشان داد که این ژنوتیپ GG ژن HSP70  ارتباط معنی‌داری با افزایش صفات تعداد تخم و وزن توده تخم در بوقلمون دارد. با توجه به تاثیر ژن HSP70  روی صفات تولیدمثلی بوقلمون‌های بومی، این ژن می­تواند در برنامه‌های اصلاحی برای بهبود صفات تولیدمثلی مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
