     هدف پژوهش حاضر، مطالعه چند شکلی ژن لپتین با استفاده از تکنیک PCR- SSCP در گوسفند نژاد لری بختیاری و آمیخته لری بختیاری- افشاری و بررسی ارتباط الگوهای ژنوتیپی با صفات رشد در گوسفندان لری بختیاری بود. از 58 راس گوسفند نژاد لری بختیاری نر و ماده موجود در ایستگاه شولی شهرکرد و 42 راس گوسفند نژاد آمیخته لری بختیاریافشاری از روستاهای شهرکرد خونگیری به عمل آمد. استخراج DNA با کیت شرکت سیناژن صورت گرفت. تعیین کیفیت و کمیت DNA با ژل آگارز و اسپکتروفتومتری انجام شد. تکثیر قطعه 275 جفت بازی اگزون 3 ژن لپتین با استفاده از واکنش زنجیره ای پلیمراز صورت گرفت. چندشکلی فضایی تک رشته ای SSCP محصولات PCR با استفاده از ژل پلی اکریل آمید و رنگ آمیزی نیترات نقره بدست آمد. هشت الگوی باندی برای گوسفندان لری بختیاری با درصد فراوانی (97/18)، (35/10)، (17/5)، (89/6)، (37/41)، (35/10)، (45/3) و (45/3) برای الگوهای 1 تا 8 مشاهده شد. همچنین ده الگوی باندی با درصد فراوانی (52/9)، (58/28)، (14/7)، (52/9)، (76/4)، (38/2)، (28/14)، (52/9)، (52/9) (76/4) به ترتیب برای الگوهای 1 تا 10 برای گوسفندان آمیخته لری بختیاری افشاری مشاهده شد. نتایج نشان­ دهنده چندشکلی بالا در ژن لپتین در هر دو نژاد بود. نتایج مقایسه میانگین نشان از ارتباط معنی‌دار ژن لپتین با وزن شش ماهگی و وزن دوازده ماهگی داشت ولی با وزن تولد و وزن از شیرگیری ارتباط معنی‌داری در گوسفند لری بختیاری نداشت.
